Influenced by hard-rock giants like Uriah Heep or Deep Purple, Bolivian band Wara (whose name translates to Light of the Star in the Aymara language) also added touches of their own Bolivian heritage to their music. They were pioneers in the fusion between prog/psych rock and Andean folklore.Their "El Inca" album is one of the holy grails of South American psych.
